I won’t say 知識を{{伝え}}た is incorrect, but the following expressions are more natural collocations.
- 知識を伝授した (pron. でんじゅした)
- 知識を授けた (pron. さずけた)
As you can imagine from a word 授業 (lesson), the Kanji 授 has the connotation of master/apprentice relationship. The subject of 授ける/伝授する is usually something important and/or precious.
伝えた, on the other hand, is a more general word. It just means “to deliver information/a message”.
