English Translation
A man is picking out a tune on the guitar.
The Japanese sentence means:
A man is playing the guitar (most likely to perform in front of audience).
“To pick up a tune” in English is different from “to play”, according to the definition by Cambridge Dictionary. Cambridge defines it as “play it slowly or with difficulty, note by note”.
We don’t say 演奏する when a player is an absolute beginner. The Kanji 演 means “to demonstrate” or “to perform in front of audience”. The English translation should be revised.
