Isn’t this “No matter how busy she is, she writes every day”?

I think “paints” would be written 描く.

Edit: I didn’t notice the 絵 in the sentence, so it definitely refers to painting. But I still don’t know about the kanji usage…

The original English is correct, and the Japanese sentence should be 絵を描く (paint/draw a picture) instead of 絵を書く (write a picture). 描く and 書く are homophones, so it’s a typical typo.
