その映画はとても好意的な批判を受けた。

English Translation

The film received favourable criticism.

I believe that the common word used in English in this context would be “review”.

Does 批判 cover this nuance too?

In Italian, the cognate word “critica” is indeed used in this context, but in English I feel it has a more negative connotation.

好意的な批判 sounds unnatural in modern Japanese because 批判 is mostly used in negative context. So, a favorable critical review should be 好意的な批評 (ひひょう) or 好意的な評価 (ひょうか).
