その問題はやってみたらやさしいこと分かった。

English Translation

I found the problem was easy.

I think it is missing a part:

When I tried to do (solve) the problem I found it was easy.

Yes, “tried to do” in English is missing. Good catch! :+1:

Also, particle が is missing between やさしい and 分かる in the Japanese sentence. It’s grammatically broken. Moreover, やさしい should be written in Kanji 易しい (easy). Don’t confuse it with the homophone 優しい (kind). 分かった in this sentence structure is very redundant.

その問題はやってみたら簡単だった。(かんたん)

その問題はやってみたら易しかった。

are more natural. I prefer 簡単 over 易しい.

You can swap the word order: やってみたらその問題は簡単だった。They are completely interchangeable with no significant difference.

By the way, the English sentence sounds to me more like “I found the problem (of the project or of the legal/social affair) was easy to solve. その問題 in the Japanese sentence doesn’t mean “the problem”, but it’s closer to “the lesson/exercise/practice/quiz” (of math or language learning etc).
