いまそれを直そうとしても無駄だ is the standard form, and 直そうったって無駄だ is a colloquial form highly influenced by Edo accent (江戸言葉 or 江戸弁).
The Edo Era (the Middle Ages in Japan) was governed by Samurai, but merchants and craftsmen in Edo (currently Tokyo) also enjoyed their autonomy and developed their own culture: one of them is Edo accent.
Edo accent has some similarities with Cockney accent in British English. Both of them overuse glottal stops, and omit some letters. They sound “rough” (and sometimes “working-class”, and even “cool”).
Unlike Cockney, however, Edo accent is widely spread across Japan nowadays. So, you can regard としても → ったって conversion is the same as “want to/going to” → “wanna/gonna” in English. ったって is a gender, age, and region free casual expression. You will find it a lot in Japanese subtitles of modern TV dramas, standup comedies, and talk shows.
