I didn’t know a score was specifically 20 items until just now.

On the other hand, we don’t know that the Japanese sentence refers to 20 cigarettes, it may be a number of other things, like bottles, or pens, or…

I also didn’t know that “a score” means “20 units” in English :open_mouth: !
The Japanese sentence should be:

タバコ1箱、20本入りである。

1箱はタバコ20本入りである。

Both work in this context and sound natural. But we usually prefer the former one.
