English Translation
Politeness is less observed today than it used to be.
I find the collocation 礼儀 + 守る(まもる) unnatural a bit although it’s understandable. 法律 + 守る is a natural collocation, but 礼儀 isn’t a law that we are obliged.
We usually say 礼儀 + 重んじる(おもんじる). And the antonym is 軽んじる(かろんじる). 重い (adjective) is “heavy” and 軽い is “light”. 重んじる (verb) means “to value” and 軽んじる means “to depreciate the importance”.
My alternative translation is:
最近は以前より礼儀が軽んじられている。(さいきんはいぜんよりれいぎがかろんじられている)
