I gave them one thousand yen each.
The Japanese sentence means “I paid them one thousand yen per unit/product”. Doesn’t this English sentence mean “I gave one thousand yen to each of them”? If so, the correct Japanese translations are:
私は彼らに千円ずつあげた。(Note: あげる means “to give away or give as a gift”)
私は彼らに千円ずつ支払った。(Note: 支払う means “to pay as a transaction”)
