その部屋には古ぼけたいすが一つあるだけだった。

English Translation

There was nothing but an old chair in the room.

You can also say 古びた(ふるびた) instead of 古惚けた(ふるぼけた). The connotation of 古惚けた is “old, outdated and even useless”. 古びた means “looks physically old” but it doesn’t necessarily means the functionality is not good.

I don’t find any implication of “uselessness” in the English sentence. So, 古びた is more accurate than 古ぼけた.
