The original Japanese sentence sounds very natural although we usually insert 読点 (、) between the two words. The duplication means that you are “obsessively” seeking for career development. We also use the same duplication phrase for お金、お金とガツガツしないで、もっと友達も大事にしなさい。(Don’t be so greedy for money. Care care of your friends too.)
