That 即使 seems very unlikely correct to me. Looks like a transparent translation of “Even now”, but 即使 is rather used like “even though”. Correct me if I’m wrong.

In case any one else is wondering about this, I just asked a native speaker as I had the same issue. She says it’s grammatically sound.
