Tom postanowił wysłać Mary do publicznej szkoły.

The CM translation is given as ‘Tom decided to send Mary to a private school.’ I think this must be a mistake and it should be ‘Tom decided to send Mary to a public school’?

You’re right, it should be “public school”. Or maybe the Polish sentence should be changed to “prywatnej szkoły”, since all the parallel sentences on Tatoeba (from where this sentence is sourced) have “école privée”, “scuola privata”, etc. in them.

“Publiczna szkoła” in Polish is a state-run school that is free to attend.

Thanks, I’ll report it next time I see it.

Czech: wrong translation.

Right: To je moje škola
