- weteran mp.noun (aged) veteran. fem weteranka
Can someone help please? When someone refers to a veteran in English, the immediate thing that comes to mind is a military veteran. Is this similarly the case in Polish? If a Polish person heard ââTom jest weteranemââ would their first thought be that Tom had served in the military? Thanks
Yes, itâs very similar to how itâs used in English â if a Polish person hears âTom jest weteranemâ out of context, they would assume itâs referring to a military veteran.
But then, of course, if you say that about a football player or a musician, it will be obvious that youâre referring to their experience in that field.
