Some advice please … the English CM translation is given as ‘Tom will assist us’. Can ‘towarzyszyć’ also mean to assist? Or is this a mistake that needs reporting? Thanks!

No, not really… “Towarzyszyć” means “to accompany”, and only that.

I guess you could translate it to “assist” given appropriate context (e.g., in movie subtitles), but here’s it’s a bit of a stretch.
