“Fare colpo su” really means “hit on me” and not “hit me”.
But why is it “su di me” here? Is the “di” necessarry?

Ciao MRgK. Technically I can’t explain but I do know it’s always “su di me” mainly because it would just not sound right to say “su me”. I’m sure a better answer will follow.
