Sono migliore di te

Is this more common than “sono meglio di te?” Are they interchangeable? Is one sentence better than another? I thought “migliore” meant “best” and meglio meant “better”. Can “migliore” mean both “best” and “better” at the same time? Is this a fixed expression? Is this sentence incorrect?

I found this sentence in the new fast track level one.

Ciao Vito, my first instinct would have been “Sono meglio di te” but perhaps it is migliore because it’s comparative.

Hi @Vito89 our madrelingua confirm “migliore” (adjective) is correct and better Italian tho “meglio” (adverb) is sometimes used very informally.
