Sie kriegte sich vor Lachen nicht mehr ein über seinen Fehler.

This sentence is translated “She laughed up her sleeve at his failure.” which is not an expression I am familiar with in English. I looked this up and it means to laugh secretly, behind someone’s back. I’m not sure if this is what the German sentence means.

The more I look at this the more I realize I just don’t know what the German sentence means. Is it accurately translated or not?

It means that she doesnt stop laughing because of his mistake so the translation doesn’t seem right.

I added what I think is a better translation on Tatoeba and also reported it. Thanks!
