In this contect I would have thought that “ausgeklügelt” is a better translation for “sophisticated”, rather than “anspruchsvolle”.

“anspruchsvoll” literally translates to “full of requirements”. The reading requires intelligence or stamina.
That meaning doesn’t fit the computer. It’s a different context. The computer doesn’t require you to be intelligent, it itself is intelligent. Therefore, like you said, “ausgeklügelt” (clever) or “hochentwickelt” (high-tech) would be better translations in this context.
