This Indonesian sentence sounds unnatural, according to HiNative. The native speaker there proposed the following alternative sentence:
Setiap kali kamu membaca sebuah buku, ilmumu akan meningkat. = (lit.) … your knowledge will increase.
The original Indonesian sentence from Tatoeba sounds like “… you will execute the improvement” in English. It’s also awkward in Indonesian.
FYI: the Indonesian sentence was translated not directly from English, but from Japanese. And the Japanese translation, sourced originally from Tanaka Corpus, also sounds unnatural to my Japanese native ears.
