Sentence put in a new category

I have not quite worked out what happens exactly, when I do a sentence from, let’s say, the Fast Track category and then allocate it to a different category, that I have created myself (e.g. “My favourite picks”):

  1. does it get fully copied into the custom category only (and gets removed from the original Fast Track category)?
  2. does it get copied, but also stays in the original category?

If it’s the case as in scenario 2, would I need to then mark it as “completely mastered” in the original category (only) to prevent it from showing in both, and to have it only in my chosen category?
But then, would this also make it “completely mastered” in the custom category?.

I have not managed to test and confirm for myself what is going on, even though this may be simpler than I imagine (I am saying this, because I don’t want to appear simply lazy to check myself).

Copying a sentence creates a duplicate that is completely disconnected from the original, and vice versa.

Yes, that’s a good idea.

This is good to know.

I am using this now to spread some sentences into different categories (e.g. for listening only, or for translation of full sentences from English into my target language).
