English Translation
I initially hated it.
A native speaker confirmed that this translation is incorrect. “Sejak awal” means “since the beginning” and thereby my negative feeling toward it continues. Meanwhile “initially hated it” in English implies that I don’t have such a negative feeling anymore.
I also asked her why “saya” is preceded by “sudah”. The word order “sudah saya benci” sounds more poetic, and is used mainly in writing. And in this particular sentence, the entire Indonesian sentence sounds unnatural to the native speaker.
