English Translation
His grown son now has children.
Without context “inzwischen” here seems to me a misleading translation for “now”?
(Lack of context for the translations is of course a fundamental weekness of Clozemaster?)

“inzwischen” is often a good translation for the english “now”. It’s not only about current situation, but also the history. Basically it emphasizes the change “since the last time we looked”, and the literal “meanwhile” refers to the time between last time and now.
“jetzt” is also perfectly valid here, but is less emphasizing.
It also leaves open the interpretation that having children is only temporary, which is odd in this case, so “inzwischen” is a good fit.
