I would naively have used the partitive here: savua. :thinking:

I asked and got this response:

  • it’s accusative because it’s generally all the smoke
  • it’s also accusative because it mentions a place to which things are going
  • “savupiippu johtaa savua tulisijasta ulos” this sounds more like “currently, at this moment, the schornstein is leading the smoke out from the fireplace” and it has no implication that that is what a schornstein generally does
