Questa è la stessa borsa che ho perso una settimana fa.

English Translation

This is the same purse that I have lost a week ago.

Hmm. Doesn’t sound quite right to me. Ho perso – I have lost. Not avevo perso – I had lost?

I am not sure but:

Questa è la stessa borsa che ho perso una settimana fa … e non riesco a trovare.
Questa è la stessa borsa che avevo perso una settimana fa … e ho trovato ieri.

The first sentence is correct if e.g. the person is shown a foto of the purse, the second one if (s)he helds the purse in hand.
Isn’t it the same in English?

I translate it as “This is the same bag I lost a week ago”.

The strange thing about this cloze is that the English “translation” seems to have been changed from the one on Tatoeba, which is “This is the same purse that I lost a week ago.” The Italian passato prossimo (or remoto?) is thus the natural choice.
