Is the ‘che’ actually necessary in this sentence? It seems like it should be introducing even another clause afterward. Something additional that the singing father is doing
Qualche volta sento mio padre cantare in bagno – this seems more natural.

Hi. I would probably use “che” as the rhythm is better and it feels right. Will be interesting to read other thoughts.
