Puis-je emprunter votre crayon ?

English Translation

Could I borrow your eyeliner?

Is eyeliner a good translation?

Personally, if the translation is French to English, I would have just translated it as pencil (especially without any other context). Then again, I’m not very acquainted with make-up vocabulary.

All I can say is it does seem that crayon has the meaning of eyeliner (see definition 3), and they do pop up when searching for crayon in a supermarket’s catalogue (among pencils and, apparently, lip gloss) so there’s that.
