English Translation
The policeman put him in a chokehold.
I looked up KBBI, SEAland and IndoDic. According to them, “membekuk” or the root word “bekuk” merely means “to arrest” or “to hold something in two”. It doesn’t mean “to chokehold”. The English sentence should be “The policeman arrested him”.
KBBI give an example sentence:
Polisi berhasil membekuk batang leher pencuri mobil itu.
if you want to keep the original English sentence, you need to insert “leher” (neck) into the Indonesian sentence.
FYI: “Membekuk” ranks around 60,000th in the OpenSubtitles frequency list, but its derivative word “membekukan” does 10,000th.
