I wonder if “dopo che” wouldn’t be a better choice of words than “poiché”: he hasn’t been able to walk again since his accident.

Ciao @morbrorper. I read “dopo che” as “after that”. However, an Italian amico told me that poiché at the start of a sentence is “not good” so you could be right. I would have said “Da quando…” or a simple “Perché fu…” - as long as it is elegant eh!
