It’s interesting to see how the conditional (and the future) sometimes “trump” the expected subjunctive.

I get caught out by this too, especially with the conditional. Perhaps both are correct, or at least widely spoken.

Me too ragazzi, this one caught my eye too. Italian tenses never fail to intrigue:-) And talking “trumps” @morbrorper, I’m now healthily addìcted to Briscola, a great little game.

I think I have an explanation: this is treated as reported speech, which has its own rules.
