Pegamos Tom.

Pegamos or Pegámos ?

The English sentence from which this is translated is -
“We caught Tom”.

Therefore, the preterite Pegámos (with an accent) would appear to be correct, rather than the present indicative Pegamos (without an accent) which has been used here.

Is this just a typographical error, or is there some reason why the present indicative would be used?

OK, problem solved.

In Brazilian Portuguese the accent is not used in the preterite. I’d forgotten this little fact.
