Pan Smith jest teraz prezesem tej firmy.

Is prezes interchangeable for prezydent? Or is there a slight difference? Thanks

“Prezes” is essentially a “chairman” or “CEO”, so it is mainly used in the business context. Political parties are also often headed by a “prezes”.

“Prezydent” is used to refer to heads of state (“president”) and city mayors, and rarely to heads of institutions or non-governmental organizations.
