On mange-tu une poutine avant le hockey ?

English Translation

Do you eat poutine before field hockey?

The translation should be, “Should we eat some poutine before hockey?”

I thought “on mange-tu”, looked strange, but it’s apparently a Canadian thing, used in questions.

Yeah, I mean, I’m not a native French speaker, but I’m an advanced French speaker living in Québec, and I pretty much exclusively watch Québec media, so I’ve gotten used to the -tu. I actually use it now when I talk to my friends, haha.
