You can exclude it by pressing the applicable button, but it still means you have to encounter it first.
Personally I don’t mind it so much. If it’s something I understand in English, eventually I also want to understand it in French, and the translation isn’t straightforward, so I’d never be able to guess the correct way of saying it.
Maybe a rating system could be implemented.

Of course you do. So long as someone speaks that way, you want to be able to understand him, and there are a lot of people speaking that way here in France.
