would “tanıyor” not work better as a more natural translation of this?
I agree that “O seni tanıyor mu?” is more natural.
When talking about knowing people, we use “tanımak” as a verb.
Depending on the context you can also drop the “O” and move the “seni” to the end: “Tanıyor mu seni?”
Additionally, “tanımak” could also mean “to recognize”.
For example: “Beni tanıdın mı?” → “Did you recognize me?”
