Non posso rompere questo computer. Non è mio.

English Translation

I cannot break this computer. It’s not mine.

I am not sure about this one:

I cannot break this computer (using a hammer).
I cannot break into this computer (because I do not known the password).

And for which is “Non posso rompere questo computer” the correct translation?

Ciao. I read this with “rompere” in that “I cannot (risk) breaking this computer because it’s not mine”.

A dopo…

That’s my reading, too.

I think definitely the former. “Break into” would be a different verb - not sure but maybe violare?

Yes, “violare” would work, or also “entrare” or “accedere”, although these two do not convey it is an unauthorized use.

Often computer related jargon uses English words, athough in this case I am not sure maybe “hackerare” (from “hacker”, or “craccare” (from “to crack”).

“rompere” can be used in sense 1 only in this case, for sense 2 you can use “accedere a” or entrare in".
