Nie mogę się doczekać spania znowu w swoim własnym łóżku.

English Translation

I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed again.

It’s a bit jarring for me to see “nie mogę się doczekać” followed immediately after by the verbal noun (I’m assuming also an infinitive can be used?).

Wouldn’t it be more correct to have the typical żeby/aby/by, followed by the second clause of the sentence?

Is the construction doczekać się different in some way?

The construction is 100% correct, but I personally would say Nie mogę się doczekać, aż będę znów spał/spała we własnym łóżku, and I think it would be more natural to most native speakers.

Infinitive immediately after nie mogę się doczekać is incorrect. żeby/aby/by sounds incorrect to me as well, but I’m not sure. I would use either or kiedy.

I guess doczekać się is a bit different, but it’s more or less the opposite, so doczekam się spania we własnym łóżku would be sth like I will finally get to sleep in my own bed.
