You use “rymma” to escape from prison or to run from home, “fly” to flee from danger.
Side note: Considering that England used to be raided by Vikings all the time, it’s no surprise that Scandinavian/Germanic words found their way into the English language, for example, Jarl which became Earl or “by” which is still included in the names of many British towns.
Even the spelling “fly” instead of “flee” can be found in the English language. Some might think of the scene in the first of the Lord of the Rings movies when Gandalf tells the fellowship in the Mines of Moria to “Fly, you fools.” (There’a a theory that Gandalf intentionally said “fly” and not “flee” because it was code to tell them to use the eagles to fly to Mordor without letting the all-seeing Sauron become aware of that plan.)
