- przypadek ‑dku mi.noun = case (incl grammatical), accident, chance, happenstance
- wypadek ‑dku mi.noun = accident, incident, occurrence
Some help please … the difference between ‘przypadek’ and ‘wypadek’? Does przypadek usually refer to a happenstance (such as a chance meeting), whereas wypadek usually refers to a physical accident e.g. a car accident? Thanks
Yes, that’s exactly right! “Wypadek” is usually negative (so someone gets hurt, something gets damaged, etc.), while “przypadek” is neutral.
