Minns ni Tom?

English Translation

Do you guys remember Tom?

No reason to include ‘guys’, except for the plural-challenged Americans.

A couple of things regarding that.

  • Although not “necessary” in modern english, the singular / plural distinction of the second person was present in the language before, and, as far as I know, it seems to be regaining some traction, with people using different ways to mark it (you guys, y’all, etc.).
  • The sentence seems to come from tatoeba, so it is likely that it was written / translated by someone for who it was more natural to include such markings

So, there is a reason to include “guys”; that is, the sentence is plural, and it can be useful to mark it. If it is to no use for you, feel free to modify the sentence on your end to remove it.
What I do feel there is no reason for, is to attack people for using a language feature that is actually present in many other languages : )
