Hi, the Eng CM translation is ‘‘My mother said if I eloped, she would never forgive me’’.
Can ‘‘dać nogę’’ also specifically mean ‘‘to elope’’, as used in this context? I couldn’t find an online reference to confirm this. Thanks!

You’re right, “elope” doesn’t really fit in here. “Dać nogę” is just a non-specific “run away”, though it does carry some additional connotation of cowardice.
