Lui ha ancora dei denti da latte?

It’s the same (strange) expression in German: “Milchzähne”.
Other languages, anybody?

Does he still have baby teeth?

In English as well: milk teeth means baby teeth.

I am well aware of that.
Acrtually, I meant in other languages I am not (fairly) familiar with.

What is the origin of this expression, which seems to be similar in various languages?
Is it because these are the teeth that you get while living on (breast) milk?
It has definitely nothing to do with the material.

Ciao. I am told that Milk teeth seem to be called so because they grow when the baby’s diet is solely milk.
