My always open Reverso conjugation table tells me that possiede should be possiède, ( it is probably done for convenience for the English keyboards) , but Tatoeba has it possiede as if it is the correct way of writing it. As always, correct me.
I think Reverso uses the accent sign to indicate the stress. To my knowledge, Italian doesn’t use accents inside words; it’s only done for educational purposes.
BTW, when I have a doubt about a word, I first follow the link to Wiktionary from the popup.
