Does padrona have the same amorous connotation as mistress? I think the translation is a bit misleading.

Ciao @morbrorper Sì sì, it is more “landlady” than “mistress” I think, or at least “mistress of the house”. (She is my mistress as in “The other woman” - Lei è la mia amante

Ehilà @Station2Station. I was told several years ago by an Italian gentleman on Duo that it is a rather old-fashioned exclamation like Gosh! or Golly! I don’t believe it! “Perbacco!” is similar, from the same era.
Now I’m not concerned with being cool, so as and when the moment arises I shall unashamedly shout “Perdindirindina!” and enjoy it😋! Yay!
