So nipote can be grandaughter or grandson or nephew or niece? This must make for some confusion at family gatherings. Are there other words that distinguish between these meanings?
How about *nipotina for granddaughter, *la pronipote for grandnephew/daughter. Thanks for asking this question, Relationships, something I hadn’t really thought about. I just relied on mia and mio.
