L'art dans les églises représentent souvent des anges.

English Translation

Churches often depict angels in art.

The english translation of this sentence seems a bit weird to me. Shouldn’t it be more similar to the french version, “Art in churches often depicts angels.” instead of the order of the wording changing to, “Churches often depict angels in art.” Or is this an example of something that can be done in english but is less common in french or not used at all? Because the two different english translations mean something slightly different from each other.

I can’t answer your question, but to me there seems to be a number mismatch: l’art is singular and yet the verb is in the plural.
