English Translation

A child is not a fully developed person.

A better fit for the English translation would be:

“A child is not a fully developed person.”

It seems you commented after changing the English translation, which means it is lost to those reading the comment in the forum. It appears to have been “A child is not a mature person.” On Tatoeba, the Finnish is a translation from the English; I wonder why they didn’t use “kypsä”.

Your version is indeed better as a translation from Finnish.

Yes, english was there first, and pretty much all other translations use some equivalent of “mature” as far as I can tell. Finnish is the exception here, and I too am wondering whether “kypsä” would be a natural choice here, or whether finnish doesn’t use it for people and has to work around it.

A child is not a fully developed person.

Kypsä can be used on people, so that could also work as a sentence.
