La motocicletta che gli ho prestato si è rotta.

English Translation

The motorcycle I borrowed from him broke down.

Is “gli ho prestato” translated to “I lent him” or “I loaned him”? So, “la motocicletta” is mine, not his?

Hi. I read it as “The motorcycle that to him I lent” ie - the motorcycle that I lent him broke down. (To borrow is “prendere in prestito” so I would think it’s my bike that I’m lending him). Look forward to hearing more on this.

(Out of interest, in English borrowed and lent are often muddled so perhaps it happened here?)

As always, happy to be corrected.
