canna fumaria = the flue in a chimney.
camino = I guess it just means the chimney you can see inside the house, or the whole thing in general.

Il camino? I have used this as “the fireplace”, the hearth. Does this help at all?

And el camino in Spanish means “the road”. Confusione massima!
On the other hand, Swedish kamin means stove.
