“Kriegen” instead of “bekommen” is very casual.
It is very common, especially in some fixed expressions:
“Kriegst Du das hin?”
“Can you handle that?”
Do not write it.
If you are unsure, especially as a non-native speaker, be more formal.
In this case
“Könnte ich bitte etwas Kaffee bekommen?”
